I Was Really Good at Bartending

Like, REALLY good.

And there was nothing quite like the feeling of rockin’ a full bar during happy hour.

When everything’s flowin’ & you’re bouncing between 30 people. It’s like being on stage.

I had a knack for remembering drinks & names.

I loved the feeling of double shakin cocktails, taking a dinner order, asking the bar back (with my eyes) to clear a space for the couple about to sit.

The music goin’ & dancin’ through it full tilt. All of my senses firing.

No 👏🏼 thing 👏🏼 like 👏🏼 it 👏🏼

But, for every one of those yes dance moments, there were 5 where I was worried about money, wondering what would happen if I had to miss a shift - putting all my finances in the hands of other people’s tips.

Just because you’re great at something, doesn’t mean you should do it.

Just because you could do it, doesn’t mean you should do it.

If it doesn’t set your heart to sing then it’s plain ol’ not worth it.

You can reinvent yourself in any moment.

You can try on a new life and if it’s calling for you, here’s your sign.

Go for it.
